It's time to take responsibility

Overview

Take part in the change and preserve the future with Native.

It's time to take responsibility. With the introduction of Native, MILE®stone has confirmed and strengthened its commitment to achieving 100% carbon-neutral manufacturing by 2030, through a collection with zero carbon dioxide emissions. The collection pays tribute to the most loved hardwoods by using locally sourced, carbon-free inorganic raw materials as a base for production. This dramatically reduces transportation related carbon emissions and emphasizes the steps we take to remain environmentally conscious. Native is a perfect representation of our achievements and a symbol of the future. It is a new and tangible demonstration of the fact that sustainability is more than simply a buzzword for MILE®stone, but an action. Native draws on roots of natural inspiration. As a carbon neutral wood-inspired tile, it pays tribute to some of the finest natural woods and combines an eco-conscious design that is both aesthetically pleasing and innovative. Based on the principles of sustainability, Native extracts the organic beauty of wood, to present a style that satisfies traditional, modern, and futuristic flooring tastes. Six color variations reproduce with faithfulness of detail the linear and clean graphics of wood to create beautiful interior settings. The result is a union of sinuous veins, nodes, and the typical nuances of the natural material. Emphasized by the 8”x48” pressed size, which reduces the energy consumption necessary for its production, enhancing further the eco-friendly vocation of the collection.

Carbon Facts

● Embodied carbon is the sum of all greenhouse gas emissions (mostly carbon dioxide) resulting from the mining, harvesting, processing, manufacturing, transportation, and installation of building materials.
● When looking at total greenhouse gas emissions for new buildings built over the next ten years — the critical period for action to address the global climate emergency — it is estimated that 80% will come from embodied emissions.
● Lowering embodied carbon emissions is now even more urgent than lowering operating emissions which comprise the remaining 20%.
● Thoughtful selection of MILE®stone’s Native collection for your project exhibits an eco-conscious mentality, necessary for combating the global climate crisis.
● Native is a Carbon Neutral tile, meaning that no additional embodied carbon emissions are produced in the creation of Native tiles.
● MILE®stone will be fully carbon neutral by 2030, with Native serving as a vital step in the process of creating a more sustainable world because it is time to take responsibility.
